The Lancers fell short in three sets.
The scores to the sets were 28-26, 25-6, and 25-13.
USCL recorded 24 kills on 98 attempts with 17 errors, along with 24 assists, three aces and 40 digs. The Lancers had seven service errors on 46 attempts, while passing saw 13 on 73 reception attempts. The Lancers also collected three solo blocks.
USCL's leaders in kills were sophomore outside hitter Constanza Fuentealba with eight, freshman middle blocker Savannah Savage with five and freshman outside hitter Abigail Leopard with five.
Freshman outside hitter Andra Shields and sophomore opposite hitter Hailey Kerestes led the team in aces with Shields having two and Kerestes having one.
Sophomore setter Rebekah Fersner, Savage and Fuentealba each contributed one block while Fersner also had 22 assists. Freshman libero Kenzie Woodard also contributed two assists.
On defense, Woodard collected 15 digs, while Leopard had seven and Kerestes had four.
The Lancers are back in action this Tuesday, September 8 as they head to Shelby, NC to take on Cleveland Community College. The game starts at 6:00 p.m.
