The Lancers fell short in three sets.
The scores to the sets were 25-17, 25-16, and 25-7.
USCL's leaders in kills were sophomore outside hitter Constanza Fuentealba with seven, freshman outside hitter Abigail Leopard with three and freshman middle blocker Laney Allen with two.
Freshman setter Khloe Cheeks and Fuentealba led the team in aces with Cheeks collecting two and Fuentealba collecting one.
Freshman middle blocker Savannah Savage, sophomore opposite hitter Lydia Bunkley and Allen all collected blocks against Sumter. Savage had two, while Bunkley and Allen both had one.
Cheeks and freshman libero Kenzie Woodard each led the team in assists with Cheeks collecting 10 and Woodard collecting two.
On defense, Woodard collected eight digs, while freshman defensive specialist Andra Sheilds had six and Fuentealba had five.
The Lancers are back in action next Wednesday, Sept. 23, as they host USC Salkehatchie. The game starts at 6 p.m.
