On Wednesday, August 26, the Lancers hosted Cleveland CC for their 2026 home opener. The Lancers lost in three sets.  

The scores to the sets were 25-21, 25-20, and 25-13.  

USCL recorded 23 kills on 92 attempts with 18 errors, with 20 assists, five aces and 42 digs. The Lancers had six service errors on 56 attempts, while passing saw 10 errors on 62 reception attempts.  

A few standouts of the game were sophomore outside hitter Constanza Fuentealba with 7 kills, 4 digs and 7 total points. Sophomore setter Rebekah Fersner also had a strong performance with 6 kills, 7 assists, 4 digs and 7 total points. Freshman setter Khloe Cheeks ended the night with 12 assists, and 5 digs, while sophomore libero Hailey Kerestes recorded 11 digs. Both freshman middle blocker Laney Allen and sophomore opposite hitter Lydia Bunkley finished with 3 kills each, while freshman defensive specialist Andra Sheilds and freshman outside hitter Abigail Leopard collected 6 digs apiece.  

The Lancers are back in action this Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 as they head to Florida to participate in the Santa Fe Tournament to face Hillsborough Community College, Santa Fe College, St. Petersburg College and Pasco-Hernando State College.
