On Friday, August 21, the women's team faced the 18th-ranked Eastern Florida Titans. The Lancers fell short in a hard-fought matchup against the Titans with a final score of 4-2. Although the Lancers did not take home the win, they did outshoot Eastern Florida 21 to 10. Before the half, sophomore forward Emma Sonnabend tied up the game at 1-1 with the assist from freshman forward Anna Neergaard-Thorgersen. In the second half of the game, sophomore center-back Elaine Otten had an assist from Sonnabend to gain another point for the Lancers, but it was not enough to take over the Titans. The game ended in favor of Eastern Florida.  

On Sunday, August 23, the Lancer's matched up against Pellissippi State Community College, a Region 7 finalist. The Lancers scored first with a goal from sophomore midfielder Fien Bisschops only four minutes into the matchup. Otten then took the Lancers to a 2-0 score with a free kick. At the end of the game, the score was 2-1 in favor of the Lancers. 

After this weekend, the Lancer's overall record is 1-1 with a conference record of 0-0.  

The University of South Carolina Lancaster women's soccer team travels to Central Georgia Tech this Friday, August 28, to play in their first away game of the regular season. The game will start at 5:00 p.m.  

The USC Lancaster men's soccer team started out their season on Friday, August 21 against top 10 nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College. The first half was competitive, with only one goal being scored by the Titans. In the second, Eastern Florida gained a large lead over the Lancers, with USCL answering with a solo goal by freshman forward Zach Loosli. The game fell the Titan's way, with a final score of 6-1.  

On Sunday, August 23, the men faced off against 18th ranked Pellissippi State Community College. This matchup ended in a tie, with a score of 2-2. Sophomore forward Colson Varnadoe scored the first goal early in the game with freshman forward Stephon James taking the score to 2-0 not long after. Pellissippi State scored their first goal late in the first half and had a deflected goal to tie up the game.  

After this weekend, the men's overall record is 0-1-1, and their conference record is still 0-0.  

The University of South Carolina Lancaster men's soccer team hosts a scrimmage against Division 3's Greensboro College on August 25 at 7:30 p.m., followed by their first region match up of the season on Thursday at home versus USC Salkehatchie. The game will start at 6:00 p.m.
