Baseball Takes Two from College of Southern MarylandFebruary 16, 2015
The Lancers Baseball Team took two wins from The College of Southern Maryland on Saturday February 14th. The Lancers won the first game four to three. Sam Pruitt took to the hill in the first game as he went five innings while allowing two runs and fanning seven batters. Ben Taylor worked an inning and picked up his first win of the spring as he struck out two and gave up a run. Josh Shailer pitched the top of the seventh to notch his third save of the season. At the plate Casey parker had two hits which drove in a run. Will LaCount drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and Marshall Pratte had a solo homerun. Tad Martin and Mitchell Price both had a hit and scored a run.
Gunner Deal took the mound in the second game as the Lancers won in five innings twelve to two. Gunner went five innings while scattering three hits and giving up two runs. He struck out five hitters. Lukas Ray had a hit and scored a run, while Grant Petrey had a double that scored two runs. Rooke Crouch added a hit and Pratte had two hits and two rbi's. Tad Martin stole two bases and chipped in two hits and Mitchell Price added a hit, two stolen bases, and run driven in. Jonathon Sabo and Chase Haas added a hit with Hass plating two runs. Casey Parker also chipped in an rbi with a single. The Lancers are scheduled to play at home Wednesday against Belmont Abbey's junior varsity with a starting time of 3:00.
